Preparing To Go - Balloon Animals Anyone?

In the weeks to come different members of the Cambodia Team 2008 will be posting their comments on the blog leading up to our departure on July 10th and so there will be more details about what we will be doing and who is going. For now, one of the things that we are focused on is preparing for the outreach that we will be involved in. This past Monday one of my friends Alex came over to teach us how to make balloon animals. She learned to create animals using balloons from her mum who was looking for ways to connect with her granddaughter.











So why do we want to make balloon animals? I like Alex's phrase----its called balloon evangelism! :-) It will be an opportunity for us to have some fun with the children we will be meeting at Svay Pak or in other parts of Cambodia. The great thing about balloons is that they are easy to pack and now that we have a balloon pump, what more could we want. These are the latest tools of our trade. So with that in mind Genie and Brenda, two of my fellow team members eagerly began making several different balloon creations. It is quite amazing what one can make with a simple balloon.
